Important Battle of the Books Meeting today during lunch in Room 83.

A huge congratulation goes out to the Cabaret for another first place finish this last weekend at the Sheldon competition. Additional shoutouts go to Freshman Kayla Murray for placing top 10 in novice drill down as well as Sophomore Kylie Jewell and Junior Mariah Hamburg for placing top 10 in advanced drill down. Nice work Cabaret!

THS Honor Roll Dessert is coming!  Tuesday, Feb 27th 7-8PM in the Cafeteria for ALL Students who earned a 3.5 – 4.0 GPA for the 1st Semester!  Come hang out!

Thurston Theater will hold AUDITIONS for their production of the hit Broadway musical, “THE ADDAMS FAMILY”, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, next week, at 5:30pm, in the auditorium. Auditioners need to attend BOTH Monday and Tuesday evenings. Wednesday will be Callbacks. There will be a dance audition clinic THIS Friday, at 3:30pm.

The applications for National Honor Society are now available in counseling office. If you have a GPA of 3.5 or above and aspire for scholarship, leadership and service then fill out an application and submit to Ms. Swartz in room 87 by Wednesday April 4th. The process requires recommendations so do not delay.

Social Action Club meets after school TOMORROW, Thursday in room 87; come help us organize a mental health awareness week.

All Juniors will be taking the ACT on Tuesday, February 27th starting at 7:45 am. If you have not completed your ACT precoding, please go to Room 76 and talk with Mrs. Moran. You cannot take the ACT test if the precoding has not been completed.

Last day to drop a class to an open study is this Friday – February, 23rd.  Go see your counselor if you have questions.

This week at lunch—Cornhole Tourney! Free to play! Upper Gym Feb 22nd and 23rd Thursday-Friday. Pick a partner and show up right at the beginning of lunch! Winning team gets a free shirt.

RHINOCEROSES HAVE COME TO THURSTON AUDITORIUM! Thurston Acting Ensemble presents Rhinoceros this weekend! What happens when a town is hit by rhinoceros fever? Is it better to join up with the wild rhinoceroses or better to stay human? Come and see what happens this Friday and Saturday and next Thursday through Saturday. Shows at 7:30pm, tickets $5 for students. This is one wild ride you won’t want to miss!

Attention high school seniors, are you interested in hosting a 7th grade student from Thurston Middle School for a class period and lunch. Come to the main office to pick up an application for this exciting peer group project. Applications are due March 1st.

The Page Turners! NEW reading club. The first meeting is planned for TODAY, Wednesday during lunch in Ms. Cybula’s room, 86.

Sophomores! Are you involved in leadership? If so, there is a free weeklong summer camp available for you RYLA Leadership Development Camp. If you are interested in applying for this great opportunity, please see Mrs. Wytcherley in the College & Career Center.  The deadline to have the application completed is March 16th

Northwest Youth Corps are providing a service trip on Saturday, February 24 to Dorris Ranch help out plant trees. Lunch and transportation will be provided at no cost, and hours can be counted as community service hours. Stop by the career center for more information.

Juniors & Seniors we will be taking a field trip to Springfield High school for a Career fair on Thursday, March 15th during 5th period. You will have the opportunity to learn about different career fields with local businesses, resume building, and learn interview techniques. If you would like to attend the Career Fair stop by the College & Career Center for a permission slip.

Youth Conservation Corps for the Mckenzie River Ranger is hiring for the summer. You must be at least 15 years old. Applications are due on February 23rd. Pick up an application in the career enter.
