Special Services/ELL (LH)

The standard education program at THS offers a variety of resources and support services for students. However, in some cases, students with very complex needs require the specialized programs and resources available through the Special Education Department. Students are scheduled into these programs and services ONLY as a result of case-study evaluations, child-review conferences, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) team meetings. IEP goals and objectives are aligned with state standards. Student scheduling is created in conjunction with the student’s guidance counselor and the special education lead teacher. The Special Education Department also serves students with physical challenges and students with visual impairments, and provides home instruction for students with health impairments who are unable to attend school for extended periods of time. The department also offers counseling and other services designed to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities who are eligible for special education.
