We believe each student who walks on to the campus of Thurston High School will graduate prepared to move through the world that awaits him or her. With a staff of 76 teachers, 50 classified employees and 3 administrators, a student body of over 1550, their families and the community partners of the greater Thurston community we believe we have the people necessary to achieve this all-important goal. We believe that success, academically and in our extracurricular pursuits, depends on people wanting to be here. Our success relies on the core belief, “how you treat people is everything”. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and welcoming place to work and learn. We believe every student can learn. Clear learning objectives, timely assessments and specific feedback to students are the cornerstones of good instruction. When these habits of teaching are received by students with curiosity, consistent participation and an honest effort real learning takes place. We believe education can change the world.
